I was so sad when I heard about Jimmy. He and my Dad (And many others!) worked so hard to create and build the Caldwell VFD. I remember seeing Jimmy when I was home from college and he always had that twinkle in his eye! Jimmy was so caring and genuinely concerned about other's welfare. Jimmy Hamlin was the epitome of a good man! May God bless you all and may you find peace and comfort in the love you received from Jimmy. Hey man I just saw where your Dad had passed. I am so sorry for your loss man. He will be remembered by a lot of people foe his kindness. I'll never forget how he saved me on my very first L.P. gas class. You already know this isn't the end and one day you'll be back together without the pain. So live honored as his son, and shine as he did. We'll be praying for you and Tina and the rest of the family. God bless you my friend...

Nicole, I am very sorry to hear about your father! He was well loved by my family. My grandma, Doris Kiger McBroom, was just telling me about how she remembered your granddaddy bringing him up to their house when he was about a year or so old! My mama, Patricia M. Blaylock, also recalls your mama and daddy being the "youngest, and most handsome couple" at Little River, when she was coming along. She also said she has such a fondness for your brother, Carl, and recalls that he was "in-training" with the CVFD the night she had her heart attack, and that he was with her! I am praying for you all, as are my family. And even though I cannot make it to your father's funeral, please know you all are in my thoughts and prayers!

Hi Terry and family: Vivian and I just learned that Jimmy had passed on into a new adventure. He was a unique and wonderful person whom we admired very much. Such a courageous battle against the ravages of the disease he was fighting. You and the Little River community will greatly miss his many contributions to so many. I am so sorry for your losing jimmy. He was a fine young man. I enjoyed knowing jimmy for so many years. He was one of the nicest, kindest people I had the pleasure of knowing and calling my friend. We always enjoyed being around Jimmy...some good times we remember: Blue Grass Festival at Myrtle several times at Thanksgiving, watching 4th of July parades at the Blalock's and eating lunch afterwards in their backyard, running into Jimmy and Charles on several occasions at Flat River Cafe; (remember he liked the chicken livers...(and so did I, Linda), also at NSUMC at "stew suppers", etc. Wherever we might see Jimmy he was always so friendly and so much fun to be with!
