I was crushed when I found out about the passing of Mrs, Henrietta. . She was always a friend to the world and a very devoted lady to her family, friends and causes. She and the Riggsbee family will always be apart of my fond memories of growing up in Carrboro. . Dave Williams

Henri was a special woman! I enjoyed visiting with her and hearing her stories about Carrboro, her family and her work with "old things". I know she is deeply missed by her family and friends. Dot Senter

I am very grateful for my Granny. She was the cornerstone of our family. I always admired how stable and steady she lived her life. She taught me how to have a positive outlook on everything. She also used to say when things were bothersome, to simply let it roll off your back like water on a duck's back. She instilled how to have respect for yourself and respect for the world. She was the best role model to all because she always possessed high integrity. She was a wonderful, protective strong mother, a devoted wife, and a true loyal friend to many lifelong friends. She was a brilliantly smart lady, beautiful, lovely, truthful, classy, quick witted and a genuine person. For me she was my best friend and my grandmother. I will miss you Granny. I am proud that you are and will always be a big part of us all. I love you and know we will see each other again. Tell Big Daddy I love him too.
Love, Julie

I'll always remember Henri dropping by regularly to visit my mom. They were lifelong best friends. She was always quick to laugh or tell an interesting story about someone we all knew. When I needed help with a gift for my mom at Christmas she always had just the right thing for me in her shop. Henri was so proud of her three sons and their families. Henri will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her.

My earliest memories go back to the late 40's/early 50's to a Carrboro that has long since changed - Oak Street, Pine Street, Oak Avenue - Henri was always there. Christmas mornings - a must visit to see if Tim got a better gun and holster set than me. Summer days - the neighbor hood gang, but back to Henri's for lunch. Banana sandwiches have never tasted so good. And then there was football. Mike was Carrboro's first football coach - as far as I know, at least - but Henri was the enabler (practice was across the street in Col. Parkers back yard). Carrboro vs Chapel Hill was like Carolina vs Duke - in our minds, at least. But, just what are we to do now? One thing is certain - We will miss you Henri!
