Meredith Henrietta Draughon Riggsbee, 96 passed away peacefully early February 27, 2017 with her family by her side. Henri as she was known to her friends, was born in Durham, NC. She moved to Carrboro, NC in 1939 when she married William Edgar Riggsbee. They were married for over 50 years until his passing in 1990. She was a devoted wife and a nurturing mother. She worked at UNC hospital in her youth and became an antique dealer in her middle years. She conducted and worked estates sales in her prime. She was an expert furniture appraiser and collected many prized treasures. Her respect and appreciation of design and décor gave her the skills to see the value of many things. She was an excellent teacher of etiquette and social graces. Family and friends were Henrietta's love and joy. Everyone benefited from her love to entertain all year long. She always tried new recipes, made beautiful flower arrangements and hosted family gatherings for all occasions. She adored her 3 sons, all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. There were always toys and games to be played and snack like moon pies to be eaten. Her quick witted sense of humor and her warm hugs will always be cherished. She is survived by her 3 sons, Michael Winston Riggsbee and wife Linda of Chapel Hill, John Timothy Riggsbee and wife Sherry of Gibsonville and Christopher Patrick Riggsbee of Holly Springs. There are 11 grandchildren and spouses, Caroline (Frank), Luke (Wendy), Chad, Scott, Julie (Reid), Thomas, Dena (passed in 2006), Brooke (Ryan), Sam, Kate and Taylor.
