Ken & Family,
So sad to hear of your mother's passing. Dr. Gene Hales shared the message with me. I remembered she was a graduate of Clinton High School. May your Mom's fond memories comfort you today and in many days to come. You are in our thoughts & prayers.

Dear Soos,
I am sorry I couldn't be with you as you remembered Dixie. All my life, I have heard Grandmother and Pa as well as my parents speak of Aunt Dixie with respect, reverence, and love. It was Aunt Dixie that saved my Grandmother Carmen Neill from a mental institution. When Dixie examined her, she found a brain tumor that was causing the erratic behavior.
Mom accompanied Aunt Dixie on many trips to New York. I also went with Aunt Dixie to the Metropolitan Opera to see Carmen. I was in third grade. We were living in White Plains and we took the train into the city. I remember her advising me to read the story of the opera in the playbill. It was so kind and generous of Aunt Dixie to expose me to something that meant so much to her.
My love to all of you,
Dana

These are condolences from friends in Lima, Ohio
Dixie will always be remembered with such fondness as she loved nurturing people and plants. She was such a delight to be around as she was so gracious and kind. She was a mentor and then became my friend. The joy she brought to all of us will never be forgotten. Wishing you peace and comfort during this difficult time.
Connie Hutson
My deepest condolences to the family of Dr. Dixie. I had the privilege of working for her in CT scan at LMH. She and Dr. LY Soo were wonderful to work with and I have so much respect for both of them. May God be with the family and especially Dr. LY. Wonderful memories.
MARSHA KLOPP
Ms. Dixie was an inspiration to those who knew her and a comfort and blessing to all she cared for.
The knowledge and insight gained while working in the neurotrama unit at Lima memorial has been invaluable to me.
How incredibly blessed I was to have not just Ms. Dixie but her husband LY in that unit Sharing not only their knowledge but they're kindness and generosity with us.
Our unit and those who worked there never lacked for funding, equipment, continuing education, financial support or emotional support.
Even after she retired her generosity continued. I moved from Lima Ohio to Wilmington North Carolina. One day out of the blue I received a phone call and it was Ms Dixie asking if I would like to come and spend the weekend in their Chapel Hill home.
That is a weekend I have always treasured. We had a beautiful dinner, went to the theater and I was able to meet some of the family.
Before I left we toured the botanical gardens which were absolutely amazing. Ms.Dixie even sent me home with some cuttings of plants from her own kitchen.
The world is definitely a better place because Ms. Dixie was here. Dr. Soo I wish to extend to you and your family my deepest and most sincere sympathy.
Sincerely,
MaryLee Hartman-Ipock
Dr Dixie was my mother’s friend, Health advocate and supporter of the ET program. I only knew Dr Dixie as an incredible neurologist and also as Moms supportive friend. She was so elegant and purposeful! Our families hearts go out to the whole family and all who loved and admired Dr. Dixie ❤

St Ritas Hospital surgery I think of you often Dr Soo . I am so very sorry for your loss she was a great lady.

Dixie had no idea how many lives she touched.
I first encountered her when I was in Junior high. I was working on a science fair project about acupuncture. I found her in the yellow pages (1970’s google) and sent a letter. She personally replied with interest and encouragement. The project was merely an event which opened a door.
19 years later I returned to Lima as a new family physician. When I made my first referral it was like I have an old friend in the new city. She was clinically amazing and personally inspiring.
I am sorry for your loss. Her legacy lives on.
Herb Schumm
Condolences to Dr. LY Soo and family. It was a great pleasure/honor to work with Dixie at LMH on 3 East/5 South. She will be truly missed. Hugs and prayers for the family.

Beneath Dixie's gentleness lay a quiet unwavering strength. What a scholar of unexcelled curiosity! She was intensely generous in spirit and purse but always without ostentation or self-seeking recognition. Kindliness was a birthright, modeled for her by loving parents, Jessie and Landron Boney. As her former brother-in-law of 28 years I enjoyed her wonderful qualities up close in person and with family. I admired her greatly. All who knew Dixie, cherished her. Good night, sweet princess.

Dixie安息,
Wuping
Dixie is a beautiful, hardworking, kind-hearted, sincere, caring elderly. She and Dr.Soo’s selfless pillars have helped many families and helped many people to complete their studies and embark on the road to success in life.
I remember that when I first arrived in the United States, I was staying at her house while waiting for college to start. Once, her house was under renovation. I thought I could work with the construction team so I could help paint the walls, but Dixie said that your current task is concentrated on studying, not work. When I left her home to go to school in New York, she gave me tuition fees and took out all of her coats and asked me to pick one. At the end of the first semester, during the winter vacation, Dixie came to see me in New York and found that I didn't wear a scarf. She also bought a scarf, hat and gloves for me. She always sends warmth when others need it.
Dixie not only gave selfless help financially, but also gave great encouragement spiritually. Once she and Dr. Soo came to New York to wear a shirt I designed to watch an opera. I feel deeply touched at the time. With a very high taste of fashion, she wore a dress designed by me, an unknown designer, which gave me great encouragement and confidence. Dixie smiled kindly when seeing my surprised look.
Another time, she and Dr. Soo came to New York and wore a perfectly matched set of clothes. I couldn't help but say to her, "It's so beautiful!" She pointed to the knitted shirt inside and smiled, "This You designed it." I took a closer look at that pullover shirt, it was really designed by me! With her encouragement, I have been walking along the road of design.
Dixie is such a caring and noble person who can help and encourage people in every way. Now Dixie has left us and went to heaven, but Dixie's spirit will always stay deep in my heart. She is a role model that I will always learn from.
Dixie rests in peace,
Wuping

I live in Lima Ohio where Dr. Dixie and Dr. LY Soo practiced. I was a nurse that had the honor of working with both of them. They were fabulous physicians. I have two wonderful memories of Dr. Dixie. On was of her helping a patient who was getting sick with an emesis pan. I was so impressed as most physicians would call for the nurse and leave the patient. I think that showed her great compassion. The other was her care of my father who had Parkinson's Disease. She was so kind and caring. He was confused and scared. She helped him so much. My prayers for all your family at her loss.

Photo taken on August 28, 2004 on the flank of Buffalo Mountain in Floyd County, VA. This was the beginning of several fruitless searches for the Grass of Parnassus wildflower. The same flower, shown in the inset, was later found in a nearby wet meadow below the Soo vacation home on Hog Mountain.

My sympathy to Dr. L.Y. Soo and all of the family. Dr. Dixie was a lovely lady and wonderful mother! I had the privilege
of working for her and Dr. L.Y. Soo. She was a very kind and gentle person. She was always thinking about her family and the
other person. She made a huge difference to everyone who knew her. I remember many occasions with her. I will just add one.
Dr. L.Y. Soo had been out of the country and when he returned, her had bought her a beautiful necklace. It was elaborate. she
came into my office at the hospital and shared with me the beautiful necklace. She had it under her blouse so not one could
see it. She was very humble. She will be missed. Love to you all.
