Obituary of William Thompson Burton

William Thompson Burton (Bill) age 77 went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 21, 2021. He is survived by his best friend and beloved wife, Lillian, daughters Audra Burton Hodges and son in law Scott Hodges and their children Anna, Elijah and Monica of Rougemont, North Carolina; a daughter, Stacie Burton Dusetzina and son in law Bret of Nashville, Tennessee; and son, David Burton, daughter in law, Ashley Burton and their children, Cameron, Xander and Kenzie.

Bill was born in Gretna, Virginia on July 14, 1943. He moved to North Carolina in 1983 and raised his family in Prospect Hill. He retired after thirty years of service with Liggett Group Incorporated of Mebane, North Carolina. He was a master wood worker and provider for his family, friends and neighbors and he was known for his story telling.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Burlington Assembly of God, 821 Tucker Street, Burlington, North Carolina at 12:00pm with a visitation at the church beginning at 11:00am

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Smoky Mountain National Park @ friendsofthesmokies.org or mail to: Friend of the Smokies, PO Box 1660, Kodak, TN 37764

Walkers Funeral Home of Mebane is serving the Burton Family.
