I was so very sad to hear just today about the loss of William...lots of folks called him Bill, but we always knew him as William when we were both students at the old Gretna High School in the early 1960s. William always had the best looking cars of anyone around...and the best stories to tell....he sometimes was slow in getting to the heart of the story, but the wait was always worth it! Always a great time was to be had in William's company. I last saw him when I took my late sister, Iris (Bootsie) Powell to the visitation for his sister, Ellen, that was held in Lynchburg several years ago. I did not recognize him at first sight, but it did not take us to catch up with one another. He had changed, but then again, all of us have changed over the years. He was one of the good guys and will be missed. My heart-felt sympathies are extended to the family. Arlene (Dink) Cundiff, Lynchburg, Va.

Lillian, so sorry for your loss. This is patsy, saunders clements. We lost debbie in may of 2018, marie is in nursing home in altavista. I miss debbie so much. You and debbie was parters in crime, right. Deepest sympathy to you and your family.

Bill was one of a kind, and the last time I saw him he still called me BC which he nicknamed me many years ago. It was an honor to call him a long time friend even after he and Lillian moved to NC. Lillian and family, Please know that Brenda and I are so sorry to hear of the passing of Bill. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. I worked with Bill at Liggett and I can truly say that Bill was one of the best welder's, pipe fitter's, and all around craftsman that I have ever had the privilege to know. Bill was loved and respected by all of his co-workers. I want to say how honored I was to call him my friend, but I was really Blessed that Bill called me one of his friends.
