I had the good fortune to work with CL on Executive Education programs at UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School. I enjoyed his wit, curiosity, humor and tremendous drive to help people succeed in marketing, business and life. He was a great colleague, mentor and friend and I along with many others will miss his lessons, advice and influence on the School and our lives.

Such an inspiring life. As an executive MBA student at UNC with an international background, I am sure I am benefiting from the ground work that Prof. Kendall laid down in the executive program.

Who but C.L. could write a marvelous obituary; with all of the wonderful things for which to remember him, this will be at the top of the list.
Hard to believe it’s been more than 45 years since I walked into C.L.’s marketing class at Kenan Flagler, remember so well his references to his South American experiences and his time at Harvard. C.L. made it an easy choice to take every marketing course he taught.
Dixie and I were blessed to get to know C.L. both socially and competitively (across the net) and for our son, Matt, to then get to know him well also.
C.L. will be sorely missed and out hearts go out to you, Mary Anne and the family.

Will miss him more than we can say. He was the best brother in law one could have. Love the Obituary as he wrote it and is so like his wonderful sense of humor and self depreciation. We will remember him. Grateful to have had him in our family.

The world just lost a wonderful man. I loved running into CL in my years working in the MBA admissions office at the Kenan Flagler Business School. I also was lucky enough to meet some of his family, all big Carolina supporters. Please know I am thinking of you and CL at this time.
Warmly,
