Steve and I go back many years to when we worked for the Republican Party in Charlotte when it was still a minority. It was a pleasure to be reunited when he moved to The Cedars and to meet his children.
Steve was both a successful businessman and a caring individual. He will be missed.

It's true - he was the definition of a real friend. He was a close on to my father George Sibold of Richmond, VA when they met shortly after WWII ended and they both attended UNCCH. They became such good friends that I am his namesake. They kept in regular touch with each other until George checked out in 2007. I remember him sending us 6 kids birthday cards with $1 dollar in them for many years and Christmas trees to the house. May God hold and receive his soul into the Kingdom.

I have known and admired Steve Davis for many years. We were neighbors in the Laurel Hill area of Chapel Hill, and one of my grandsons built a beautiful rock garden for him in their yard. Also, Lucy married Fred Emmerson, Jr.., who was a nephew of my late wife, Jane, so there is a family connection by marriage. I send my heartfelt condolence to the family.

When I met Steve, a mutual friend said "you are now part of the family". That is the way he lived his life. With love and respect for all. I was honored and privileged to be included in that "family". I will miss his advice and encouragement. But mostly I will miss his smile.

One thing I liked about Stephen D. Sr. was his positive attitude, his patients, his generous spirit and his sense of humor. I was privileged to have him as a very good friend. I still
remember the quote he shared to me. “ God did not promise days without pain, sun without rain, But he did promise STRENGTH for the day and light for the way.”
You are truly be missed R P Stephen Davis.

Steve Davis was such a nice man and he was always smiling. He smiled with his eyes! Very handsome and interesting to talk to. He had a huge presence and I know he will be missed. If you had Steve as a friend you were truly blessed! Many prayers for his family.

Uncle Steve was a wonderful man who loved his family and friends. He always had a welcoming and generous spirit.
It was his tradition to send a birthday card and birthday dollar each year. I always looked forward to that card.
Uncle Steve was the last of my mother's siblings to pass away and he will certainly be missed.
