Obituary of Donald Timothy Zinser

Donald Timothy Zinser, 68, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, after a brief illness.
Tim is survived by his two children, daughter, Kimberly Andrews (Alan) and son, Justin Zinser; brother, Charles Zinser (Andrea) of Plattsburgh, NY; half-sister Victoria, Phoenix AZ; grandchildren, Cassidy and Brody; nephews Allen and Brandon; nieces Krista and Victoria; grandnieces and nephews Tommy, Matthew, Grace and Gabriel. He was predeceased by his wife of 38 years, Christine Ann Zinser; and his parents Donald and Grace Weaver.
Tim was born on July 19, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a gifted musician, loved the guitar and more recently the ukulele. Many years ago he owned Oxbow Music Store in Chapel Hill, NC. With construction in his background, he later earned his General Contractor’s license and started Maple Leaf Construction Company, mostly specializing in custom homes. After a “brief retirement” began working at Home Depot in Durham, where he was able utilize his knowledge of construction, loved his job and made many new friends.
Additional artistic accomplishments of Tim include his book, "Switchblades of Italy" which he co-authored, Turner Publishing Co, 2003 and a CD entitled ”Justin Time”, which he wrote and produced.
We will honor Tim in a celebration of his life and invite all that loved him to attend:
