Obituary of John Joseph Partridge, Jr.

Chapel Hill – Dr. John Joseph Partridge, Jr., husband of MaryLois Partridge, died Monday morning at Hillcrest Convalescent Center in Durham.
Dr. Partridge was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Avondale, Georgia, where he graduated from Avondale High School. Mr. Partridge then attended Wheaton College, and received his PhD in Chemistry from Northwestern University. He spent one year at Columbia University working on his Doctorate, then worked for Hoffman-La Roche in New Jersey for 20 years. In 1988, John relocated to North Carolina to begin a career with Glaxo that lasted until 2000, when he started his own consulting company, JJ Partridge Consulting, Inc.
In addition to his wife, Dr. Partridge is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Taylor Poole, of Durham; grandson, Dylan Poole; brother, James Randolph Partridge, and his wife, Laura, of Lilburn, GA; sister, Dorothy Jean Partridge of Georgia, Margaret Partridge Lunsford, and her husband, Clark, of Avondale Estates, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Dr. Partridge was preceded in death by his parents, John Joseph and Agnes Russell Partridge, and his sister, Dr. Mary Elizabeth Partridge.
A memorial service to celebrate John’s Life will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2018, at 2:30 pm at the Chapel Hill Bible Church. Officiating will be Rev. Randy Russell. The family will hold a private graveside service in Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery.
