MaryLois, Jennifer, Taylor & Dylan, I and my family (Maggie, Nino, Isabel & Isla) are deeply saddened with Johnny's passing. After hearing of Johnny's improvement we were encouraged that his recovery from the stroke would continue. We remain stunned that he has passed away. When I think about Johnny I think about love and devotion. Johnny's love for family was so very clear to me, to us. The care and love he had for MaryLois, for Jennifer and for Taylor was obvious to all that knew Johnny. That love was a model for others and touched the lives of many friends and family members. Being a grandparent, what filled my heart even more was Johnny's love and devotion for Dylan. A grandson could not be loved more than Johnny loved Dylan. And it is clear to me that Dylan knows that love, feels it in his core and will carry it with him always. Please know that my / our heartfelt prayers of comfort are made in support of each of you. Dear MaryLois, Jenn and Taylor, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of John. He was a great person and was very kind to me and my family. I remember the days when he took me and my family including my mom to an air show and the time we went to Jenn's performance at Chapel Hill High School. As a new employee at Glaxo back in 1992, I felt John's enthusiasm towards China and Chinese culture. I also benefited tremendously from his care and help, including my return to graduate school to finish my Ph.D degree. I now work from another state and plan on travelling to NC the weekend of John's memorial service. Thanks. Take care, Shiping Xie

I am very sad to hear that Dr. John Partridge Jr passed away. My heartfelt condolences to his family. May his soul Rest In Peace. I had several occasions in which we interacted for chemistry discussions during my work at Scynexis.
