As long as I can remember, Mrs. Polly Roberts has been a close friend of the Mebane Walkers for many years. When my Mother told me I was going to spend the night over the weekend at Polly's, my taste buds stood right up in anticipation of some of the best "home cookin" Mebane had to offer! Polly's passing marks the end of a lost generation of fine aristocratic southern ladies whose style, grace and upbringing are sadly missing from today's generation. For all those in my immediate family from my Father the honorable Marvin G. Walker (former Mayor of Mebane) to myself, may God shed his grace upon thee and give you rest and peace forever.
