Obituary of Nannie Lou Hoenig

Nannie Lou Hoenig Nan went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the age of 93. She was surrounded by her loving family at Universal Health Care in Ramseur, NC, following several months of declining health. Nan was born December 31, 1921, the daughter of Thomas E. and Swannie Clark, in Carrboro, NC where she remained a life long resident. She enjoyed cooking and being surrounded by her family as much as possible. Her greatest memories always included family. Her home was always filled with love and laughter. Our family was blessed to have her in our lives; and, her love and light will always be with us. Nan spent most of her life devoted to her family, and loved being a homemaker. Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Johnson and husband Mike, of Pittsboro, Gerri Addison and husband Monroe, of Durham; three granddaughters; two grandsons; five great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and their families; and a few cousins. Nan was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Thomas M. Clark; and loving husband, Lawrence E. Hoenig, Jr. The service to celebrate the life of Nan Hoenig will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday afternoon, December 27, 2015 in the chapel of Walker's Funeral Service and Cremation in Chapel Hill. Interment will be at Westwood Cemetery in Carrboro. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 2:45 pm at the funeral home. Walker's Funeral Service and Cremation of Chapel Hill is serving the family of Mrs. Hoenig.
