We are deeply saddened to hear of Wes' passing. Wes, Joanna, and Aiden recently became our neighbors, and Aiden has spent quite a bit of time at our house. He has been a wonderful companion to the other children in Kris' afterschool program. We frequently saw Wes heading out to work in the mornings; he always had a smile, friendly greeting, and good wishes for the day ahead.

I am so sad to hear about Wes passing... Wes was a great man. No matter what kind of day he was having, he always had a smile at the ready. He loved talking about his family, so whenever I stopped by his desk or saw him in passing, I made sure to ask about his family. Wes, you were the best Finance and Budget manager I have ever had the privilege to work with in my seven year career at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) or in my career for that matter. Not only were you super smart, but you were never afraid to challenge my thinking or approach. I adored your dry sense of humor and appreciated your "eye rolls" when I said something inappropriate or silly. I always trusted your instincts when maybe the model was not quite right. Wes, you have never been far from my thoughts. Christmas day driving in Wrightsville Beach I got behind a Jeep covered with Dave Matthews Band stickers and a plate that read ILOVEDMB. Instantly thought of you and took a picture to show you later. Man, am I going to miss you. Will never listen to another DMB song without seeing your wonderful smile.
Joanna and Aiden, please know that Wes constantly talked about you both. My last conversation with Wes prior to the holidays was about the recent cruise and the two of you swimming with the dolphins. Never seen him smile with such joy.
