Im saddened by this news, I used to work with Jon at Milltown in Carrboro where we were just lowly servers....I adored his sense of humor and most of all his laugh. I used to look on the schedule to see when i was working with him because he was a true joy... We lost touch, i moved away for awhile and he moved on as well, but i would still see him around town and nothing ever changed, he was still the most laid back, cool, critically hip guy id ever met. my thoughts are for his family and friends, you don't get to be such a amazing guy without the love and support he clearly had. Goodbye dear one.

My sincere condolences go out to Jon's family...the world is a little less bright without his presence. Jon and I were in the same nursing class at Watts and our greeting to one another arriving to class often included a big bear hug and a peck on the lips. He was a brother from another mother, a tender-hearted soul whose company was always welcomed because he also brought the wit. You are very much missed. Wherever you are Jon, I hope you're spinning records, laughing, cooking up something funky and surrounding yourself in rainbow lights. Peace, Summer Mazur

I met Jon through work when he was in high school. He immediately became a favorite friend. His loyalty, strong work ethic, sweet nature, and yes, his off the wall sense of humor, endeared him, not just to myself, but to many. He has had a place in my heart since then, and that will never change. Godspeed Jon.
