Dave was so helpful to me when I came to the 'U' 20 years ago. He took his time to share how to get through all of our paperwork...always with a little side comment to make me laugh. We worked in the same dept up to his retirement. We still have a hand drawn Christmas ornament on our Interiors tree of all the supervisors; Dave is one of them. We will remember his happy walk down the corridors exclaiming 'it's Friday, and a payday.' Sincere condolences to his wife and son; his UNC family is sad to hear this news.

Keeping you all in my thoughts. Remembering the first time I met Dave, it was when you two were first dating. Dave always had a way of making you laugh. He just loved being at home and at the coast, the simple things in life. Most of all you could see and hear how much he treasured you Cheryl, how proud he was of you Andy and how much he loved his Cheekie. Love you all, Francine

Hi my name is Kayla and I am a local bible teacher. I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one. There is a very comforting scripture at Isaiah 25:8. It says that soon Jehovah will swallow up death forever and that he will wipe away all of the tears. So we can all look forward to a time when death will be no more. I hope that this scripture can bring some true comfort during these difficult times.

Cheryl, Andy and Erin, My thoughts and prayers have been with you and will continue.
Dave loved retirement, and was quite content to stay home except when you and he would go to the coast for a few days. Dave loved being at the ocean and eating all of the great seafood like she crab soup and raw oysters.
