Obituary of Louise Williams Garrard

Louise Williams Garrard, 89, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at the Hock Hospice House in Durham, NC. She was born March 14, 1927 in Hillsborough, NC. Louise was a lifelong resident of Hillsborough, NC, where she worked for many years at Colfax Furniture as a saleswoman. Louise loved nothing more than to be in the kitchen preparing meals for her family and friends. She was known for her cakes and Sunday dinners; both made with love. Louise is survived by her children, Charles "Buddy" Garrard (Ann), Rhonda LuAnne Loy, and David Garrard (Janice), her grandchildren, Jaime Davis (Travis), Amanda Rigsbee (Paul), and Victoria Garrard, as well as her great-grandchildren, Caleb Davis and Paisley Rigsbee. She is also survived by her sisters, Ruth Willet and Grace Simmons as well as very special friends, Barbara Knight, Gayle House, Nancy Tubiolo, and Vicky Tubiolo. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Garrard, her brother, Charles Ashburn Williams, sister, Virginia Williams Warren and also by her parents Charles Williams and Naomi Pearson Williams. Funeral services will be held at Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough. Visitation will take place Friday, April 8, 2016 at 1:30 pm with the funeral service immediately following at 2:30 pm in the Walker's Chapel. Funeral services will be led by Pastor Leah Rade. After the services burial will take place at the Hillsborough Town Cemetery. After the funeral the family will welcome family and friends at the home of Paul and Amanda Rigsbee, 226 Fletcher Ridge Rd., Timberlake, NC 27583. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Hock Hospice House of Durham, NC.
