Obituary of Lawrence Albert Gordon

Lawrence Albert Gordon, age 86 of Hillsborough, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Hock Pavilion, Durham, NC. He was born June 2, 1929 in Orange County, NC to the late William Albert and Lonie Salone Ray Gordon, and was in 1949 he married Aaron Taylor Gordon, whom survives. Mr. Gordon attended Orange County schools, he began working at the Hillsborough Farmers Exchange and later went to work with Liggett & Myers as a machine operator where he retired with 36 years of service. He loved his family and enjoyed working outdoors. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Nellie Cates and two brothers, Juney Gordon and William Edward Gordon. Left to cherish his memories, his wife Aaron Gustavia Gordon, a daughter, Linda Gail Gordon, a son Bruce Edward Gordon and wife Dawn, four grandchildren: Jeff Hicks, Jamie Hicks, Amanda Wagner and husband Luke, and Chelsea Lane, one great-grandchild, Abby Hicks, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends, Friday, April 15, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Walker's Funeral Home, 204 N. Churton St. Hillsborough, NC, a graveside service will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Union Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, 6407 Union Grove Church Rd.
