Obituary of Ernest Edgar Kime

Hillsborough - Ernest E. Kime, 77, of Cedar Grove, died at 7:05 PM, Friday, April 15, 2016 at Liberty Commons, in Burlington, NC, surrounded by his family & daughter Lesa Kendrick holding his hand when he made his journey to the Promised Land. He was born July 25, 1938 in Chatham County, NC to Lester Worth Kime Sr. & Marry Etta Love Kime. He married Jean Wagner on Nov. 29, 1993 who survives. Also surviving is daughter Lesa Andrews-Kendrick (Bill) of Cedar Grove; two stepsons Michael Andrews, Sr. of Hillsborough and Greg Andrews (Shannon) of Efland; one sister, Marie Coley of Randolph County; two granddaughters, Taelor Chrisco of Cedar Grove and Rivers Andrews of Efland; three grandsons, Michael Andrews, Jr. (Lacey) of Rougemont; Matthew Andrews (Carson) of Mebane; Dallas 'Rambo" Andrews of Efland; one great grandson, Nolan Andrews of Rougemont; and numberous cousins, nephews and nieces. Ernest loved all of his grandchildren but Taelor Elizabeth, was the "Apple of his Eye" and he always called her "His Angel." He could be having a really bad day, she would walk in the room and he would light up & begin to smile. Ernest was predeceased by his father, Lester Worth Kime, Sr. and Mother, Mary Etta Love Kime; one son Randy Wayne Kime; one grandson Chris Sawyer Andrews; brothers AG Kime, Buddy Kime, Robert Kime, Jack Martindale, Willard Smith; sister: Bobbi Kime Stuart. Ernest loved the Jimmy Swaggart Ministry on TV, he watched this show 24/7 and talked about Jimmy & others on the show as if he knew them personally, he would always want to mail his monthly tithes to that ministry, he wanted to help spread God's word. Before he got sick, he sang bass in the church choir and in a family quartet. He enjoyed cooking and having dinner parties with his family and friends. He loved the senior citizen's group at the Hillsborough Church of God. The visitation is from 1 PM until 2:30 PM on Wed. at Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough. The memorial service will follow after visitation at 2:30 PM at Walker's. The burial will follow at the Efland United Methodist Church Cemetery on Brookhollow Road in Efland. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ernest Kime to Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Alamance County at 791 Boone Station Drive, Burlington, NC 27215. A special "Thank You" to Dr. Deanna Jones of Mebane Medical Park and to all the staff at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation.
