Obituary of Donald Lee Sturdivant

Donald Lee Sturdivant, age 69, of Chapel Hill, NC passed away at his home, Tuesday, April 19, 2016. He was born February 19, 1947 to the late Edgar and Annie Ferguson Sturdivant. Mr. Sturdivant proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, and is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from the UNC School of Dentistry where he was the Storeroom Manager for many years. He was a member of Damascus Congregational Christian Church. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, JoAnne Hackney Sturdivant of the home, a daughter, Heather Sturdivant of Graham, NC, a stepdaughter, Sherri Hackney Hall (Randy) of Stem, NC, a stepson, William Hackney (Kelly) of Chapel Hill, NC, three brothers: Danny Sturdivant, Quint Sturdivant and Clint Sturdivant all of Chapel Hill, NC., three grandsons: Jaylen and Jordan Loftin , and Chase Weeks, two granddaughters: Rebeka Hall Barringer (Steve) and Kyela Hackney, his uncle and best friend, Larry Sturdivant and his loving companion, Heidi his Miniature Schnauzer. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2016 at Damascus Congregational Christian Church, 522 Damascus Church Rd. Chapel Hill, NC, with visitation following the service.
