Obituary of Vivian Squires Yates

Hillsborough - Mrs. Vivian Alene Squires Yates, 89, died Friday, April 22, 2016. She was a native of New Hanover County but lived most of her life in the Palmers Grove community. Surviving are her children: Denise Robinson and husband Gary, Ann Kirby, Delbert Yates, Jr.; grandchildren, Erin Schneider and husband Nick, Adam Kirby and wife Anna, Jacob Robinson, Ashley Horton and husband Justin, and Holly Wilkinson and husband Andy; great grandchildren, Dylan Kirby, Amelia Schneider, Elias Schneider, and Lucas Wilkinson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Winfred and Samuel Squires, husband, Delbert Yates, Sr. and her daughter, Gail Walker. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Tuesday in Walker's Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Leah Rade officiating. Burial will be in Palmers Grove United Methodist Cemetery.
