Obituary of Robert Ellis Smith

Hillsborough- Robert (Bob) Ellis Smith passed away on May 14, 2016 at Hock Family Pavilion surrounded by family and friends. Bob worked at Durham Coca-Cola for 35 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Coca-Cola Collectors' Club for 30 years. He was also a member of the Tar Heel Chapter of the Coca-Cola Collectors' Club, having served as President, Vice-President, and Merchandise Director. As Bob and his wife Pat traveled to Coca-Cola Conventions over the years they made many new friends. They enjoyed traveling throughout the United States as well as Canada, Mexico and Antigua. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia (Pat) W. Smith and a sister, Mary S. Dunnigan. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Alice H. and Charlie Smith and brothers, Willard H. Smith, Charles A. Smith, and Bill Smith. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough.
