Obituary of Margaret Ann Reid Shumake

Margaret Ann Reid Shumake passed away Sunday, August 11, in Chapel Hill. She was 69 years old. Margaret was born in Thomasville, NC, to the late Voida Owen Reid and Herman Reid, and graduated from Lexington (NC) High School. A twenty-year resident of Carrboro, NC, Margaret worked caring for patients at the Chapel Hill Rehabilitation Center until her retirement, in 2009. She was preceded in death by her brother, Douglas Reid, and is survived by her daughter, Dana Shumake Stamey, her son-in-law, Christopher Stamey, and her granddaughter, Julia Stamey, all of Chapel Hill, and by her former husband, Donald Shumake, of Jacksonville, Fla.
