Mr. Andy: I remember so clearly when I was caring for Glenna Teague 3 days a week. I would push her up to your house and the 4 of us would set in the back yard and talk. She would crawl around. She didn't start walking until she was about 2 years old. You and Miss Hattie were so glad we came by and of course we were glad to visit with you also. I can't think of your dog's name. Can you believe it was 22-23 years ago? Chris Vickers was digging your well one time we were there. I gave you some country ham once. I can see Miss Hattie's face and hear her voice now. SHE ALWAYS SMILED AND TALKED LIKE SHE WAS SO GLAD TO SEE US. As we were the both of you. I still have the riding horse that you gave me that was your son's when he was about 2 years old. At the time I got it, he was married to his first wife and you didn't think he would ever have any children. It is very small and my 4 grandchildren were trained on it before they started riding the bigger one. It is in perfect condition like it was when I got it over 20 years ago.
I remember when I first met Miss Hattie on several day tours with the Senior Citizens.
Actually before I started caring for Glenna. So I've known both of you a long, long, time.
She was always so happy to be around other people. Some times when I would go shopping, I'd stop by and pick her up. Once we went to South Square and looked at the Christmas decorations from one end of the mall to the other. Her giggle always let us know she loved us. (And I'm sure everyone else she met) You even told us what kind of chemical to get to kill moles in our yard. It did the trick!! It's too bad they took it off the market, because after 20 years they have come back and even brought their families. This picture is what Miss Hattie looked like when I met her. I still laugh (even though it is not funny) about how mad she would get when she wore pants on a trip. If she didn't hold them "just right" they would touch the floor and get wet where other people would pee. I can hear her now!! Then her knees started to wear out and she had to stop going on the day tours with us. And she had to stop working in her garden and yard. You had a jewel of a wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor, hard worker, loving person, good and honest, and I don't think if you looked the world over, you could have found a better person to love than Miss Hattie. Billy and I have to come and see you in the near future. We love you both. Faye and Billy Blackwood.
