Obituary of Sudie Louise Pelletier Huskey

Louise Pelletier Huskey, 89, of Chapel Hill, died peacefully July 27th, 2016. Louise was born April 8, 1927 in Lenoir County, NC to the late Mark Dawson Pelletier and Cora Braxton Pelletier. In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Pelletier, and Mark Pelletier, Jr., and a sister, Gwen Pelletier Wade. She enjoyed being a homemaker and most importantly, taking care of her family. Her southern cooking style was enjoyed immensely by family members and friends. In addition, she especially enjoyed sewing and gardening. She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, William E. Huskey; a daughter, Ann Huskey Efird and husband Dennis Efird of Carrboro; a son John E. Huskey and wife Bonnie S. Huskey of Hillsborough; two grandsons, Joshua E. Huskey of Hillsborough and Steven L. McBroom of Durham; David White of Chapel Hill, whom she thought of as a son; brother, Ira D. Pelletier and wife Frankie Pelletier of Archdale, NC; a sister, Valerie Burmahl and husband Paul Burmahl of Durham and several nieces and nephews. Service will be 2 PM Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Walker's Funeral Home of Chapel Hill with Pastor Eric Burmahl officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Chapel Hill-Carrboro Meals on Wheels, or a charity of your choice. Flowers are also welcome.
