Obituary of Murry Wister Ferguson

Murry Wister Ferguson, Jr. of Carolina Meadows, Chapel Hill, NC, and Blowing Rock, NC died September 26, 2016. He was born in Mebane, NC and lived there until moving to Wilmington, N.C. in 1967. He was a custom home builder and developer in that area until his retirement in 1997. He was preceded in death by his parents, Murry Wister Ferguson, Sr. and Catherine Mae Compton Ferguson.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Allred Ferguson; his daughters: Kayron F. Busse and Julie F. Hoffman of Richmond, V.A.; a granddaughter, Whitney H. Bickelhaupt of Knightdale, N.C.; and a grandson Hunter F. Hoffman of Charlotte, N.C.
A proud veteran of World War II, he attended UNC at Chapel Hill. He graduated in the class of 1950 with a B.S. in Business Administration. He served as Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and Elder in his home church in Mebane, N.C. and he continued to be active upon joining First Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, N.C. Among his charitable activities, he served as a past member of the board of the New Hanover County Workshop.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 2:30 o'clock in the auditorium of Carolina Meadows, 100 Carolina Meadows Drive, Chapel Hill, NC.
