Obituary of Ronald James Wright

Durham - Ronald James Wright, passed away peacefully, on October 22, 2016, at his residence in Durham, NC; after many years of declining health due to End Stage Parkinson's' Disease. Ronald was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and a friend to many. Ronald's family and friends were a great joy to him as he was homebound for many years prior to his death. He especially appreciated the visits from his son and daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter in those final days. A smile would always appear on his face when they were there with him. Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Orie Jasper (Jack) Wright, and mother, Ruth Soloman Wright of Chapel Hill, and his grandson, Dale Brooks Tingen of Durham. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jerri (Andrews) Wright, he is also survived by a son, Michael Dean Wright and his significant other Robin Keppler of Pittsboro, NC and a daughter Kimberly Paige Wright Tingen (Dennis) of Durham, NC, a granddaughter, Taylor Nicole Tingen, and a great-granddaughter Lexie Michelle Champion of Durham, NC, also sisters: Joyce W. Jenzano, of Durham, NC and Linda W. Tingen (Norman) of Mebane, and Roger B. Wright (Pat) of Colbert, OK, and many nieces and nephews. The family would especially like to thank the UNC Hospice staff for the wonderful care they provided Ronald. They would also like to thank Ronald's special neighbors and friends, Joel and Pam Cook, who came to his aide on many occasions throughout the many years of his physical decline. The family will receive friends, Monday, October 24, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Walker's Funeral Service of Chapel Hill, 120 W. Franklin St. Chapel Hill, NC 27516. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Journey Church of Southpoint, 6804 Farrington Rd. Chapel Hill, NC 27517.
