Roger Dennis Tarr, 76, of Arlington, Virginia passed away on November 20, 2016 in Burlington, NC after an extended battle with vascular and respiratory disease. Roger was born in Washington DC on July 6, 1940 and graduated from Herndon High School. Roger, "Cookie Man", retired from Nabisco after 30 years as a salesman. Roger loved bowling and spent his lifetime promoting the sport. His contributions to youth bowling as a coach, mentor, league president, and tournament director developed a strong future for the sport which contributed to his induction into the Nation's Capital Area Bowling Association Hall of Fame. He also coached youth baseball and was league president in his earlier years. Roger is survived by his son Roger Dennis Tarr (Paula), stepson Frank William Campbell (Rebekah), daughter Michelle Elaine Tarr-Warren, and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Roger was a loving father, grandfather, and friend to all. Roger is predeceased by father Phillip Tarr, mother Lois Bankmann, and brothers Timothy and Ronald Tarr. A private family service will be held on Dec 3 in Hillsborough, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Roger Tarr's name to the Ted Gruszkowski Jr Youth Star Award scholarship.
