Dear Family We join the many who are grieving. Sharing both a Hassingers and Houghton connection, l feel particularly cloe to my cousin Caroline, but throughout her life there have been so many whose lives have been enriched by her wise and generous spirit of good will. Ken and I treasure our memories of times together in Chapel Hill, Hilton Head Island and WhiteToop Mountain. May your memories bring comfort to you as well Love, cousin Mary Longman

I share your sadness at the end of Caroline's life, and also your appreciation for the remarkable person she was. As Susan's teacher and advisor at Carolina Friends School--and as a regular attender at Binkley Baptist Church, when my parents were alive and members there--I was privileged to know Caroline and Paul. I enjoyed every interaction with such caring, committed, and loving people. Caroline's passing is mourned by many, even as her life touched and inspired many more. Jim Henderson

Caroline was a great lady. To everyone, she was an example of a life well lived, of benefit to her family, friends and good causes. My late husband, David Mitchell, liked and respected her very much. My condolences to Paul, her family and friends. May she walk beside us in spirit every day.
