Obituary of George Thomas Weiser

George Thomas (Bud) Weiser, 85, passed away peacefully in his sleep in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, on January 27, 2017. He was born September 17, 1931 in St. Paul, Minnesota, but lived in the Washington, DC area for most of his life. Mr. Weiser is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce Ann Weiser; his son, William Edward Weiser and daughter-in-law, Sarah Peyton Weiser, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; and his daughter, Laurie Jean Weiser, of Land O'Lakes, Florida. Surviving also are his beloved grandchildren Caroline Peyton Weiser and Catherine Stuart Weiser, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; and Alexander Jose Logrono, Caitlin Ann Logrono, and Alyson Grace Logrono of Land O'Lakes, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father, The Reverend Dr. George Conrad Weiser; his mother, Irene Andersen Weiser; and his siblings, John Conrad Weiser, Francis Robert Weiser, and Marilyn Weiser Peck.
Mr. Weiser worked for the FBI for 35 years in Washington, DC. He served in the United States Coast Guard from 1951 to 1954. He also worked for both Woodward & Lothrop and Macys in the Washington, DC area. He and his wife relocated to Chapel Hill in 2005. Mr. Weiser was noted for his kindness and support of others all of his life, especially to his wife Joyce. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, February 2, 2017 at The Chapel of the Cross, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Interment will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
