Hi Bill. I am just now reading your comment and so appreciate. I did not recall that our mothers had met and were able to share Wilmington memories. We had my mother's service in Chapel Hill last month, but will be headed to Wilmington in a few weeks for the burial. Sad as it will be, I am looking forward to being in her hometown and attending a service at First Presbyterian Church, where her father was minister for so many years. I hope you are doing well! Meda

It's great to hear from you Roberta. I hope you and your family are doing well. I had forgotten my father had designed that addition to your home. I remember many evenings babysitting Adam and also playing tennis on your court. The loss of our mother has brought back lots of Miami memories and of course the Hanging Basket days. She was the best mother ever and will be greatly missed.

Thank you Isabel. She loved seeing you too and thought you had beautiful taste! It's hard to imagine a world without my mother in it.

Thank you for the lovely note Maureen. We have wonderful memories as well of the many fun times we had in the NC mountains. Your contribution and immeasurable help at CF was greatly appreciated by both of my parents. Yes, she will be very missed. Meda

Dear Meda and Thurston,
I read with sadness that your dear mother passed away. I have such fond memories of her and your dad as wonderful neighbors in Pinecrest. They were always kind and welcoming from the day we moved into our home on 92nd St. Your dad designed our addition and our tennis gazebo and we loved the Hanging Basket shop that reflected you mother's taste and charm. I hope that happy memories of your mom will bring you comfort. Warmly, Roberta Shevin

Dear Thurston,
I am very sorry for the loss of your mother. Although I never met her, I can say without hesitation that she was an honest, loving and wonderful person. I say this because I know you - and you are your mother's son. Her legacy lives on in you and your sister and she will always be with you.
With love,
Debra
