Dear Bruce, Sarah and Erin, I just now heard the news of our beautiful Diane's passing away. What a long hard battle she fought, and no doubt, it was you all that kept her fighting. I want you all to know what an incredible friend she was to me, and all of the JOY we shared while growing up. As much as Diane was your typical kid- as we all were- she had this uncanny ability to keep both of her feet on the ground. She had an uncommon ability to have compassion that transcended not only to those we were all friends with, (the best listening ear I had), but she was truly loved by my parents, and so many of us who grew up in Anacortes. I will never forget her wonderful friendship, her joyous spirit, that twinkle in her eye (when she was up to no good LOL) and most of all, that loving heart of hers. I know you all, as her family were her greatest blessing. Sending you many hugs and sincerest condolences. Suzanne Perkins Newman
