Obituary of Shirley Conn

Shirley Conn died on July 4, 2017 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina at the age of 75. Shirley is survived by her children Vickie Pruett of Cary, North Carolina and Keith Pruett of Charlottesville, Virginia. In addition to her children she is survived by her sisters Phyllis Rodriguez of Morgantown, WV and Patricia Fisher of Tazewell, Virginia, brothers Buford Conn of Tazewell, Virginia, Adron Conn of Fenton, Michigan and Y. Benny Conn of Kinburn, Ontario, Canada and many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Artha Conn and siblings Clinton Conn, Clifford Conn, Walker Conn, Dorothy Herald, Russell Conn, Alcia Conn and Thurman Conn. She was born in Buchanan County, Virginia, and was the eighth of thirteen children. She graduated from Graham High School and spent most of her life living and working in Southwest Virginia and Southern West Virginia. Shortly after moving to Chapel Hill, North Carolina she began working for Edward Jones and recently retired after 17 years with the company. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 15 at 10:00 a.m., at Orange United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill, where she was a member. Visitation with family and friends will follow after the service. An additional memorial service will be held at a later time in Tazewell, Virginia at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.
