Obituary of Mavis Miexell Cagle

Durham - Mavis Miexell Cagle, 90, of Pickett Rd. Durham, NC passed away April 16, 2017 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. Mrs. Cagle was a native of New York, born December 16, 1926 to the late James and Mildred Miexell. She graduated from Bethany College in Bethany, WV and began working as a Social Worker in Southern California where she met the love of her life, Lowell Cagle. They were married in California but lived an adventurous life in many different cities due to his employment with IBM. In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Lowell Cagle. She is survived by her daughters: Jeannine Howard of Durham, NC and Vickie Gotthelf of FL, a sister Katherine Anderson of FL, a nephew, Allen Anderson, and four grandchildren: Ashley Hillebrand and husband L.G., Chelsea Howard, Nicole Fontaine and Marcus Fontaine. Graveside services will be held, 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 20, 2017 at New Sharon Methodist Church cemetery, Hillsborough, NC. Walker's Funeral Home of Hillsborough is serving the Cagle family.
