I met Caroline at a Women's Bible Study through a mutual friend. I noticed immediately that Caroline had a quiet, gentle, loving spirit. She was an encourager and lover of Christ. As an encourager, she sent out a daily bible verse(s) to many to spur us on. It was a welcomed and an expected delight each day to receive her email and the scriptures from Caroline!
Other fond memories include coloring together and also coloring with a group of other women sipping on tea, talking about her kitties, life and the Lord. It was a sweet and peaceful time to stop, be together, fellowship, focus on the Lord and enjoy each other's company.
One of my favorite conversations was a recent one where we talked about heaven and all that it beholds for us. I love you Caroline and will miss you so very much, but await our reunion with great expectation and excitement!
My thoughts and prayers are with your family and all who knew and loved you.

My prayers are with Caroline and her family. Caroline and I did neurology residency together at the University of Virginia from 1995-1998, followed by fellowships together at Mayo Clinic. She was a dear friend of mine and my wife, Bonnie. We spent much time together during residency and fellowships, both at work and outside of work, as close friends. We stayed in frequent touch over the years and our friendship deepened. My fondest memories of Caroline are mostly from the many in-depth conversations we had over the years, about our lives, families, friends, backgrounds, aspirations and even geeky topics like neurology; I would occasionally even let her bore me about autonomic neuropathy and other dysautonomias, topics she inexplicably always found fascinating. Like Caroline, I have also battled cancer these past few years. We shared our "war stories" from our battles many times, and she was extremely supportive and helpful, especially during my toughest times. She prayed for me and I prayed for her. She made the world a better place and will be missed by many, including me, my wife Bonnie and our 3 kids. Love you, Caroline.

Caroline was my college roommate for four years. She had a keen intellect, a great sense of humor, and she was an avid Duke fan. Some fond college memories include going to dances together with our dates, eating ice cream at Baskin Robins, playing hearts and charades, canoeing down the Haw river, and going to the beach on spring break.
Years later, she stayed overnight at my home so we could travel together to Duke Army game. We both cringed each time Army would score and blow a loud horn, signifying that cadets had to do push-ups. We had a lot of laughs about that experience. Caroline and I stayed in contact through the years and I always admired the hard work and dedication she showed in her profession.
Above all, Caroline loved her Lord. She was a faithful servant and a true inspiration.

Caroline was quiet, gentle, and kind. A true friend with a caring heart. I remember listening to the Beatles with her on the old LPs... Talking for hours on the old rotary phones with the springy lines that stretched... Visiting during a Duke football game... We shared a love of cats and faith in the One who made us, and whom she is with now. Caroline was unassuming and would not want a fuss, but that is why she deserves such honor. Anyone who knew her has been blessed.
The photo is from Bele Chere, 1980, the first year it was held in Asheville. We had a grand time at the "little festival" that day!
We will catch up in heaven my old friend ~ Blessings ~ Kathy ~
