Obituary of Richard Caldwell Ennis

Richard C. Ennis III, known as "Trey" at the young age of 15, died on May 2nd, 2017, at Duke University Hospital as a result of complications due to leukemia treatments. Trey was born on August 14th, 2001, in Durham, North Carolina to Mary and Rick Ennis. Trey was a student at Charles E. Jordan High School and an avid member of the men's lacrosse team. Trey was known for being number 14 on the field, and number one in our hearts. Growing up, Trey participated in the Durham Summer Swim League for Five Oaks. Trey was a lifelong Carolina fan and enjoyed his free time hunting and fishing with family and friends. Trey is survived by his parents, Rick and Mary Ennis of Chapel Hill, North Carolina as well as his sister, Koryn Thrasher of Lansing, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, LeRoy Korynta and Richard Ennis Sr; his grandmother Mary Etta Ennis; and aunt Kathy Ennis. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 5th at 7PM at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
