Obituary of Naomi Dabbs Wilson

Please share a memory of Naomi to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Cedar Grove Naomi Faith Wilson passed away peacefully May 6th. She was born in Durham, June 11, 1922, to Cluster Eugene Dabbs of Clay County, Alabama and Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Hester Dabbs of Durham. The eldest, Naomi was called at an early age to care for her four younger siblings. These were difficult years, but it was with pride and fondness that she recalled their adventures and successes; and she continued this service of caring until her last hours. Thank you, Naomi. Having spent most of her adult years living in Georgiana, Alabama, Naomi came to live with family in North Carolina after the death of her husband in 1995. In Georgiana she was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Oak Grove Methodist Church. Though lacking formal lessons, if there was a hymn that Naomi could not play on the piano, you had but to hum a few bars and she would join in accompaniment. Predeceasing Naomi are her husband of 52 years, John Woodrow Wilson, her sister, Sharon Majors, brother, Aaron Dabbs, and sister, Sarah Goode. She is survived by her devoted brother, Phillip Eugene Dabbs of Cedar Grove. There will be a graveside service at 11 o'clock, May 11th, at the Union Baptist Cemetery, Georgiana, Alabama. Walker's Funeral Home of Hillsborough, NC and Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana, AL are handling the arrangements. Walkersfuneralservice.com
