Sam and Helen were not only my landlords as I lived in the apartment under their church...but they were just like family. We would talk almost daily and they would say I was their son and wanted to know how I was or if I needed anything and how my kids and grandkids were. It was so difficult but I moved to Pennsylvania after 25 years in NC. This past January I went back to NC to visit family including Sam. We talked about my moving back and I was planning to do that after my health improved. Sam taught me so much. I will miss him very much.

homecoming at O O is alwAys the 2nd weekend in October, I seen Sammy last October , he gave everyone a big hug that he met , ya'll come back please to talk and have fun, Sammy was a good friend , will be missed, and could rally belt out a good tune!!:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::heart_eyes:

To family of Sammy Gibbs; he was in my sister's class at Oxford Orphanage; Janice Faye Moore Roberts (now deceased.) I'm so sorry for your loss; sounds from the obituary that he led a wonderful life; may he RIP in God's eternal love and blessings to you all. This is for Clydie; I am Catherine Moore (I now spell Catherine with a K.) I was in 2-G Cottage with you; I left when I was age 15. I've wondered about everyone from time to time.
