Obituary of Joan Frances Serdensky

Joan Frances Serdensky, nee Tether, was born on October 24, 1941, in Boston, MA, and passed away on April 7, 2024, in Greensboro, NC, at the age of 82. Joan was a hardworking, generous woman who dedicated her life to teaching and caring for others. She was deeply involved in church activities, including feeding the homeless, volunteering at the Food Pantry, and teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
Joan's career as a Special Education teacher spanned several institutions, including Cotting School, Dedham Junior High School, Braintree St Coletta School, and North Attleboro High School. Even after retiring, she continued to share her knowledge by volunteering at the Adult Education program at Blue Hills Regional Technical School.
Joan was a devoted member of the Parkway United Methodist Church in Milton, MA for many years before relocating to NC and joining the Hillsborough Methodist Church. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith and commitment to serving others.
Joan is survived by her loving husband, John Serdensky, her daughters Julie Forrest (Alan) and Janice Vaughn (Ken), and her grandsons John Alexander Forrest, Andrew Wilson Forrest Patrick John Forrest, Alex Jordan Vaughn and Brock Anthony Vaughn.
Joan's kindness, dedication, and passion for helping others will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Whitestone Masonic Home Chapel: 700 S. Holden Road, Greensboro, NC 27407.
