Obituary of Richard Thomas Hurteau

Richard Thomas Hurteau of Mebane, NC passed on February 27, 2024 at home at the age of 66 years old.  He was surrounded by his loved ones when he passed away.  He was loved by his wife Cassie Elizabeth Hurteau and his children Mary Hurteau, Kenneth Hurteau, William Hurteau, Bethany Hurteau, Richard Hurteau II and his wife Pearl; stepson Wesley Horton and his wife Cheyanne, stepdaughter Krista Kime, stepson Todd Craft, Stepdaughter  Dakota Greenway, stepdaughter Diamond Greenway, brother in law Donald Saunders and his wife Rebecca, 3 brothers and all his nieces, nephews and grandchildren.  Richard was preceded in death by two of his brothers.

Richard was born on February 24, 1958 to Walter and Hazel Hurteau in Durham, NC.  Richard was loved by his friends and family and all his co-workers at Hawfields Middle and Garrett Elemantary School.  He loved to drive the bus.  He had so many hobbies.  Richard was a hard working person and he never stopped until all the work was done.  He loved teaching his kids how to work on different things.  Richard really enjoyed seeing his good friend Ricky come and hanging out with his other good friend Jeff Foster and his daughter Emmy.  Richard was also a volunteer fire fighter in New Castle, VA.  He loved to help people when they need it.  Richard was a loving and caring man.  Richard will be loved by his family and friends who knew him the most.  I love you Richard Hurteau.
