It has been an inspiration to share in Mary Jane's courage, to see how the whole family has pulled together, to hear her friends words of encouragement, and to know what a beautiful person she was,as we shared her life via email. It was a joy to know her at Salem.
Any of us would love to have the love and constant care that has been evident in Wood's daily words of her progress.
We will certainly miss her. Margaret Fletcher Kleber

I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the Burns family. during your time of mourning. It is never easy to lose a beloved family member.During such difficult times, the bible has proven to be a great source of comfort for me and my family. John 5:28 & 29 promises all of us that there will be a great resurrection of the righteous. This gives all of us the opportunity to be reunited with our dead loved ones. I do hope this scriptural promise can be a source of comfort to you as well.

I cannot form the correct words for my heart's sorrow; lessons learned through the love she had for life for her soul-mate, as a mother, relative, counselor, friend, and attitude for life in general; and memories that will stay with me forever. We live through your spirit now, Mary Jane.

Precious rest for a wonderful, caring lady whose laugh I can still hear. May the angels welcome you with open arms. May God extend a loving and caring spirit to the ones you left behind. I always admired your ability to help others evolve into maturity via your grand expertise. Surely, you have been called "upstairs" to provide useful advice for changes in this errant world you have left behind. A friend from the past.

We share our heart-felt sympathy with Dr. Wood Burns and his family. Although we did not know Mary Jane, we did know Dr. Burns surgically in 2007 and 2008, when he helped us with diagnosing a cancer. Many thoughts and prayers. Linda and Guy Inman
