Obituary of Janece Catherine Radabaugh
Please share a memory of Janece to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Janece C. Radabaugh, 86, died at home with her loving daughters at her side on January 28, 2022. Jan was born on October 10, 1935 in Pittsford, Michigan, to the late Claude and Elfrieda Julian and was one of five children. Jan went to Pittsford High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree in teaching and master’s degree in counseling from Western Michigan University. She married her childhood sweetheart and the love of her life, Phillip Radabaugh, whom she initially met in 7th grade, on June 21, 1958. They were happily married for 59 years before Phil preceded her in death in 2017. Jan had two careers, first as a pre-school and elementary school teacher and later as a counselor and faculty member at Bucks County Community College in Newtown, PA where she touched many lives. She was a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors. Jan is survived by her daughters Lisa and Kathy, her sons-in-law Taras and Roger, her grandchildren Jamie and Cal, and her twin sister Joyce. Jan always put her family first. She was a devoted wife, amazing mom, and a loving grammy to her grandchildren. As a mother, Jan supported her daughters in all their interests – valuing education, independence, and hard work and encouraging them to pursue their goals. She also helped to raise both Jamie and Cal – caring for them a few days a week when they were young, volunteering in their classrooms, and showering them with unconditional love. Jan nurtured her friendships, valued her fitness, and enjoyed golfing, reading, and spending time with her family. Jan was a beautiful woman inside and out, with an infectious laugh and insightful perspective. We will miss her dearly and know that she is at peace and with her Phil in heaven. She will remain always in our hearts.
A virtual celebration of Jan’s life will be held on Wednesday February 2, 2022 at 1:30 pm that will be livestreamed at the link to the left.
