Our condolences to Ingrid and the Rubenacker/Erker family, your dad was a wonderful person. I have great memories of him especially on our Sunday trips to Hunter Mountain and Windham. The bus ride was always filled with laughter because of Joe. He was also an amazing skier and always took time to teach me something new. Will always remember the good times we had, may he rest in peace. Ruhe in Frieden

To our friend and our father's (Herbert Morscher) ski buddy. We all have the fondest of memories growing up with the Erker family and can remember the best ski trips with Joe and his great kids Ingrid and Robert. Our hearts go out to you at this time of loss and hope that you can hold on to the beautiful memories. The photograph is fantastic and I almost want to say that I remember those super cool ski boots and jacket. I will ski one for him... With our love from NY. Barbette Morscher-Havriliak, Herbert & Sidonia Morscher and Family.

My dear Onkel Joe. Thank you for so many wonderful memories and for helping make my childhood so special. I loved spending my Saturday nights with you and Tante Klara watching the Love Boat, then the Lotto numbers and then on to Fantasy Island. You both always made me feel so safe. You were always there for me and my parents during the good and tough times. We were always so grateful for that. You always made our holiday dinners so fun with all your jokes. How I miss that. I loved going to your house when you came home from one of your ski trips to hear all the funny stories and of course you always remembered to bring me a pin from all the ski mountains. You were always special to me and I will always keep you in my heart. Ruhe in Frieden mein lieber Onkel. You are now reunited with Tante Klara,my father and the rest of the family. I am sure they ran to you with open arms. Love, Lisa

We first met Joe on the cul-de-sac of Caminito Alegre the summer of 1991. Throughout the years we loved his stories through his thick accent. He was passionate about sports, politics and of course his family. He was a kind soul. His cakes were delicious and a special part of the birthdays of his two grandsons Eric and Kurt
Joe was one of those people who left the world a better place by being here.
Sending a big hug to Ingrid, Peter, Eric, Kurt, uncle Bob, and his sister Freda. Wishing you all a beautiful celebration on the slopes, what an absolutely magical place to scatter his ashes.
Love, the Sackett Family

Dear Rubenacker and Erker Family,
With our sincerest condolences to Ingrid, Peter, Robert, Tante Frida, Eric, Kurt, and Maggie.
As your next-door neighbors, we always enjoyed and took comfort in seeing Joe from his window at night while watching a game. We would look each and every time we passed the house, knowing he'll be up there with one of his many baseball hats.
We will miss his presence, his good nature, and delicious pastries. But, most of all we'll miss you, Joe. You are now resting in peace -- just as you deserve -- after giving so much of yourself to others. We'll remember you fondly and with love always.
Joe, may you Rest In Peace.
With our love,
Rita, Ed & Todd Sheehan
