Gracie Brown was a one of a kind lady. She was a great wife, mother, mother-n-law, grandmother and great grandmother. Gracie was known for a warm smile and a big heart. She loved children, from newborns to 80 yrs old....She knew how to raise children....she was a great friend to those who lived on Lindsay St...and her life was given to the Lord years ago. She loved her church and her church family. She raised children to show respect for themselves and others, and that includes her children and the children that were in her daycare. I always treated Gracie with the utmost love and respect...she was a best friend to my mom(Betty Sparrow),
.
As a mother-n-law, she was great. She loved you, respected you, and wanted the best for you. She always treated me like part of the family, and I always kissed her on her cheek and said I Love You before I left.
When she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's I took care of her the last 18 months of her life...I really felt the love that she had for me and I hope that she felt my love for her. She made me feel wanted, needed and respected... I will forever love Gracie Brown. Thank you for letting me take care of her.

Gracie was a classic A1 lady. I often saw her out walking and was amazed how strong she was. Many days I said to myself if she can I can. Often I drove by her home and admired her yard and flowers. Gracie you will be missed.

We are forever grateful that Gracie was able to care for our daughters before they went to school. We treasure all the wonderful ceramic gifts she made and gave us. May we all be blessed to serve on this earth with our God given gifts as Gracie did.

I was fortunate and blessed enough to have had Gracie help raise both of my sons. Josh and Jeff Coburn (now 34 and 30) were in her daycare from the time they could walk until Pre-K. I was a young mom, she helped me become the mom and me-me I am today. From potty training and manners she covered it all. She let me know real quick if I was varying from her “ways”. She never forgot one of her kids! I’d love seeing her at all the church BBQ’s and functions.
Again, my sons and I are better people from her love and support.
My sympathy and love especially go to Chris, and her husband Roy whom we knew the best, but of course to her whole family at this time. God Bless you all.
Sarah Loftin, Josh and Jeff Coburn

Gracie was a wonderful Christian with a servant's heart. She could not pass up an opportunity to help when she saw a need. At Carrboro Baptist Church and Farrington Road Baptist Church she taught Sunday School, worked in Vacation Bible School, served on hospitality committees, visited the sick, and on church cleaning days, she could vacuum and sling a mop with the best of them. She always served with a smile and a glad heart. We were blessed to serve with her through the years and we are looking forward to serving with her again in heaven.
With love and sympathy to her sweet family,
Pastor Jim & Sylvia Greenlee
