Mildred Semtner Bizal passed away November 14, 2012, at home in Chapel Hill, NC, at age 85. Born in Oklahoma City to Otto W. Semtner and Jennie Bob Fullbright, she was preceded in death by her brother, Roy H. Semtner. She attended Rosary Grade School and Classen High School in Oklahoma City, and Mt. St. Scholastica College in Atchison, KS. She was active in various organizations, including Coronado Club where she was selected as Mardi Gras Queen in 1948 for the annual Oklahoma City charitable ball She married Robert B. Bizal in 1956 and lived in Tulsa until 1971 where she was active in various organizations, serving as chair of the Membership Committee of the local United Nations organization. During her chairmanship, membership in the organization doubled. She subsequently lived in Houston, Washington, D.C., Denver, and Chapel Hill, NC. She traveled extensively including North America, South America, Europe, and North Africa. She is survived by her husband and their three children. Jennie Bob Culpepper (Philip) and Melanie Bizal (Gene Clark) of Chapel Hill, and Raymond Bizal (Cindy) of Huntington Beach, CA. Three grandchildren, Alexander Culpepper, Adam Culpepper, and Jennie Bob Bizal-Clark live in the Chapel Hill area. In lieu of flowers, gifts to a charity of your choice would be preferable.
