My heart is broken! Just heard this sad sad and shocking news. Joyce was a dear dear friend who took me under her wing when I was a CO-OP student at UNC Hospital in the early 80's. Even though I was an NCSU student at the time she still loved and helped me. We had fun teasing each other because of the rivalry. She even let me live with her and Kay when my summer housing deal fell through at the last minute. It was wonderful spending time with Kay, Tink and the entire Lloyd Family. We always had a great time together no matter what we were doing or where we were(work, Lloyd gatherings, eating out, ballgames, and the beach to name a few).Joyce will be deeply missed! RIP Dear Friend until we meet again one day. Love ya, Susan Renee(aka Wolfer)

In high school, Friday nights were the time to go "cruzing". Joyce, two other friends and I would circle all round the "boro" and "town", the O Boy, over and over to see and be seen. The whole night was "cruzing" and laughing!!! Joyce had the best, deep, hardy laugh. Almost nothing and about anything would set her off!!! Great times with friends when life was much simpler and safer.
Thru life, I remember she loved of her "Mama", "neices", nephews", any kind of ball and UNC! Joyce, May you RIP!

I was a poor pitiful player on the Antioch team with Joyce. She was awesome to watch cause she was on a much higher level than the rest of us. What I remember most is how she was always encouraging us, never critical, and we could tell how much she enjoyed playing.
