Joan and I only knew Faye from Sundays at Sunrise but our memories are of how she was such a pleasure to speak and joke with. We'll remember her fondly.

When we were young, we were all staying at your house in Richlands. I’m not sure who all was there but at bedtime they decided all of us young’uns would sleep in one bed across horizontally. They threw 2 sheets over us and I was in the middle. It was summer and the windows were up and during the night the cool air settled and I woke up cold. Being in the middle I had no covers at this point. I slipped out of bed and crept into your folks’ room to ask for a blanket. Your Mom woke up and looked at me and just raised her arm to lift the blankets. I crawled in next to her and she enfolded me in her embrace. I was soon warm and asleep and slept well the rest of the night. In that moment and so many other times, I was one of hers to protect and keep warm. I love that memory of her. She was kind and generous and loving. We will miss you, Miss Faye!! ❤️❤️

We were so happy when Chester and Faye moved out to Crawford Dairy Road. I will always remember her bright, beautiful smile when I would hollar and wave to her as I passed by on “Sunny”. She could make you laugh so hard. One of my favorite stories was when she happened on a deer out in the trails during a walk in the woods. She was a beautiful person and I am grateful to have had her in my life and part of my family. She was one of the sweetest, kindest and most generous people I have ever known. My mom loved it when we would take her to Old NC to eat barbecue, the best in the world, and Faye would always come over and make her feel so special. Faye knew how much I loved that barbecue and several times sent me a special container by Natalie. I loved getting her annual Christmas card that always had a picture of the whole family; Chester, Natalie, Jerri, Hannah, Ella, Jack, Levi, Max, Jason and Mark. She loved her family more than anything. She will be missed by so many people and we are all so much better for having her in our life. I know that you are no longer suffering. You will remain close in my heart and in my memories forever. Rest in peace my dearest Faye. Love, Joan
