(HILLSBOROUGH, NC) -- Betty Sue Hill Crabtree, 82, of 4609 Saint Mary's Road, Hillsborough, passed away Monday, December 24, at Hospice of Alamance-Caswell. She was the daughter of the late Huldah and "Mr. Mick" Hill.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 64 years, Chester Lloyd Crabtree; sons Robert Lloyd Crabtree of Hillsborough, and Thomas Hill Crabtree and wife Gayle of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren Travis Lloyd Crabtree of Hurdle Mills, and Lauren Elizabeth Crabtree and Kayla Hill Crabtree, both of Spartanburg, SC; great-grandsons Hunter and Ryan Crabtree; and a large extended family.
Betty loved family, friends, flowers, music, cats and chocolate candy. Besides raising her children and helping tend the family farm, she enjoyed her work over the years at retail stores Belk, Smith's Ready-to-Wear, the Huddlebug, and the Orange Congregations in Mission Thrift Shop. She was also a poll worker during Orange County elections. She was a 1948 graduate of Hillsboro High School.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 27, at 11 o'clock at New Sharon United Methodist Church, 1601 New Sharon Church Road, Hillsborough. Pastor Jeff Nash will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215, or the Alzheimer's Association.
The family will be at the home.
