Obituary of Wayne Bernard Averette

Wayne Bernard Averette (Buckie), age 71 of Person County, born on a Sunday August 29, 1948 passed away peacefully on Sunday August 9, 2020 at the Hospice Center in Burlington, NC.

Wayne was a hard working provider for 21 years at Hillsborough Textiles and a successful business man with his own cleaning service before he fell ill in the late 1990's. Favorite past times were traveling with his family, trips to the beach, camping, flea markets, and simple quality time with family and friends. He enjoyed his trips to Pace when his mobility was starting to become challenging. Though his his health was fading his spirit stayed strong.

His memories will live on through his surviving family of which are his loving wife Patricia Averette, nee Ward; his three children, Donald W. (Tonya) Averette of Mebane NC, Randy B. (Cynthia) Averette of Mebane NC, Kimberly J. (Javier) Lopez of Mebane NC; loving brother Tyree F. (Betty Ann) Averette Jr. of Hillsborough NC; five precious grandchildren Christian D. Averette, Devyn J. Averette, Corbin D. Averette, Andrew A. Lopez, Matthew A. Lopez. Wayne is proceeded in death by his parents Tyree F. Averette Sr., Bettie Averette nee Evans, and brother Jerry T. Averette.

Per family request a viewing will be held at Walker's Funeral Home in Mebane Wednesday August 12, 2020 at 11am. And burial will be at Hillsborough Town Cemetery Thursday August 13, 2020 at 11am. There will be no service but a few words will be said by Reverend Michael LeCates, husband to his niece Tyretta LeCates.
