Obituary of Thomas Edward Sharpe

Thomas E. Sharpe, 74 of Graham, NC was called home by his Lord on February 24, 2020 at the Durham VA Hospital.

Mr. Sharpe was born on March 7, 1945 to the late Fred and Edith Sharpe in Durham, NC. He graduated from Hillsborough High in 1963. Mr. Sharpe was drafted to the Army and served his country in the Vietnam War. Mr. Sharpe was an employee of Hillsborough Textiles and later retired from the State of North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles. Mr. Sharpe enjoyed baseball, basketball, football and fishing in his early years but as he got older, he most enjoyed his church, friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sandra M. Sharpe of Graham; his son, Thomas Kevin Sharpe and Paula of Hillsborough, NC; grandchildren, Kenly and Kolton; son, Travis E. Sharpe and Michelle of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, grandchildren Isleigh and Weston; also survived by his brother, Fred Sharpe (Susan) of Garner NC, his niece Abby and nephew Sam.

Mr. Sharpe was a life member of First Baptist Church of Hillsborough, he loved his church family, how they cared for him and have been there for him through the years. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in his honor to The First Baptist Church of Hillsborough building fund.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church located at 201 W. King St. Hillsborough NC 27278 on Monday March 2, 2020 at 2:00 pm.

The Sharpe family is under the care of Walker's Funeral Home of Hillsborough.
